A NOVA Letter is a Notification of Vehicle Arrival, this notifies HMRC that the vehicle has been cleared into free circulation with the UK and has passed all necessary import checks.
Your Customs Clearance Agent UK will usually apply for a NOVA Letter on your behalf once they have completed the import clearance for your vehicle and it has been accepted and cleared by HMRC.
Your Customs Clearance Agent UK will explain that the NOVA Letter is proof that HMRC have recognised all payments of applicable Import VAT and Duty have been paid to HMRC and the vehicle is now legible for vehicle registration in the UK.
