Salon Privé, The UK’s most prestigious automotive event

With Salon Privé, the UK’s most prestigious event having finished on Sunday, here is a quick wrap-up of the event at the beautiful Blenheim Palace.

The stunning world heritage site and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace, provided a backdrop for over sixty-five of the globe’s most luxurious vehicles. After the record-breaking number of attendees the previous year, this event was bound to be a success for its 21st year running.

The event featured an exceptional collection of cars, including a bespoke 1952 Ferrari once owned by President Juan Perón, a pre-war Maserati 8C 3000, one of Maserati’s rarest models and a Lamborghini Miura P400S, widely regarded as the world’s first supercar. Alongside these collectibles many other remarkable vehicles were displayed by private owners and manufacturers.

Trans Global Logistics UK Limited attended the event as specialists in vehicle logistics to support their clients. It was a privilege to be able to view some of history’s past and present automotive icons.

For the first time Salon Privé held a new award and crowned two best of show cars and indeed this was a year to remember. The Lamborghini Miura P400S and Mclaren F1 were both crowned, as they grasped a place in automotive history. The Lamborghini Miura P400s owned by Amir Ravan and the RLC Collection was awarded the Concours d’Elegance whilst the Mclaren F1 receiving the first ever Concours d’Excellence award.

Co-founder and Chairman of Salon Privé, Andrew Bagley, recognised the emerging global passion of modern supercars with the new award “The standard of cars on the competition field this year has been incredible, and I think our two winners demonstrate just how much the collector car world has evolved.”

So, what does this mean for next year’s Salon Privé event?
Looking to the future, automotive enthusiasts can expect to see more recognition for the modern technological supercars alongside the old classics. Whilst a classic will always hold a certain unmatched charm, I think the newly found recognition for the fast and advanced supercars will open a world of people interested in the sleek and modern designs of supercars.
