So, we have created a step-by-step guide of the best things to do before shipment, to ensure a smooth reunion on the other side!

Squeaky Clean

Before it enters any mode of transport, similarly to the process to ship a car, we must ensure your bike is super clean, if it isn’t up to scratch, it could face being rejected and missing its container deadline. So, make sure you have given it more than just a hose down!

Any mud or dirt embedded in the tires also needs to be thoroughly cleaned and tidied up along with making sure there is no risk of oil leaking as it can result in a hefty charge if it gets stuck at the port!

Back to Basics

Before your bike is put into a container, it must be back to the bare minimum, it cannot have any accessories or additions. Particularly any accessories protruding from the body of the bike as these could get damaged during shipping and the container is planned to perfection to fit your bike in exactly. We also cannot accept any bike with more than a quarter tank of gas, so make sure you have used it all up on one final ride before your destination.

Get your camera ready!

You should take photos of any dents, scratches or damage already occurring on the bike. This helps to ensure your bike arrives with no damage that wasn’t pre-existing. Be as thorough as possible and fill up all your phone storage, the more pictures the better!
